Bro. Pete was called by God as the pastor of Emmanuel MBC in February of 2007. Since that time, God has prospered and blessed Emmanuel with spiritual and physical growth. Most importantly, precious souls have been saved. Bro. Pete praises the Lord for all that He has accomplished and worked and praises Him in advance for what He is yet to do.

Prior to coming onboard at Emmanuel, Bro. Pete served in a variety of ministerial positions for the Lord: Youth Pastor, Pastor and National Discovery Director.

In addition to the preaching of the Word, Bro. Pete leads out in the Pastor's Study on Wednesday evenings, the adult ministry and the senior adult ministry. He also enjoys visiting with guests and members of the church. He also serves as an instructor at the Gulf Coast Baptist Institute in Hattiesburg, MS.

It is Bro. Pete's prayer that God will deepen our fellowship with God, with one another and with our community.

Personal Information:
Bro. Pete was born on January 28, 1970 in Greenfield, Massachussetts where he lived until moving to Orlando, Florida at the age of five. Shortly after moving to Florida he began attending the Calvary Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized. Bro. Pete served in many capacities during his youth: Sunday School and BTC teacher, bus captain, youth director, childrens church director and youth rally president. These were a great joy and helped Bro. Pete realize what God was leading him to do. On July 3, 1991, Bro. Pete announced his call to the ministry and began attending Florida Baptist Schools that fall.

On May 29, 1992, Bro. Pete married Lisa Byer also of Orlando. Lisa has served the Lord greatly in Bro. Pete's ministry. She has led out in many youth and ladies ministries. She has also written curriculum for Discovery Bible Clubs and Vacation Bible School. Lisa has a heart for people and enjoys ministering to ladies and girls in teaching, fellowships and counseling. She also enjoys ministering in the drama department of Emmanuel.

It was not long before God added to the Underwood household. Kyle was born on February 2, 1995 in Orlando, Florida. He received Jesus as His Savior at Camp Glenwood in LA in July, 2005. Kyle attends Franklinton Jr High where he enjoys playing football. Kameron was born on April 30, 2000 in Somerset, KY. Kameron trusted in Jesus as His Savior in June, 2007 under Lisa's guidance while awaiting his brother's football practice to end. Talk about a touchdown!!!Kameron attends Enon Elementary and enjoys all kinds of sports.
